Detectives Arrest Suspect in Murder of Conrad Cole

The Homicide Unit arrested a Hyattsville man in connection with Wednesday's fatal shooting of 20-year-old Conrad Cole. The suspect is 28-year-old Roderick Town of the 5100 block of Flintridge Drive. 

At about 1:00 pm on June 1st, patrol officers were called to the intersection of 69th Place and Greenvale Parkway in Hyattsville for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Cole in a roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. He died a short time later at a hospital. 

The preliminary investigation reveals Town shot Cole after a brief confrontation. The two men did not know each other prior to the shooting. Town is charged with first degree murder, second degree murder and related charges. He's in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
